Small Biz Marketing and Social Media News

JULY

The team at Buffer started experimenting with a four day work week back in May 2020 and they have settled on a system that is allowing them to set the bar high and still provide customer support.

How about you? Can you try taking Monday, Wednesday or Friday off and create your 4 day work lifestyle?

Pinterest

People on Pinterest are planning—and purchasing—for their post-quarantine lives. As people plan for the future, they’ll turn to brands and creators for new ideas. Use these emerging trends to plan your own next move. Pinterest is not to fend of FOMO, it's for INSPIRATION.

Pinterest adds a Shopping List feature to round up your saved products. Read more from Techcrunch.

Facebook Groups

We all know how welcoming new members is a great way to make them feel like a part of the community.

And that, Facebook offers the ability to create a welcome post by automatically tagging all members from a laptop in a private group and from a mobile in a public group.

Here’s a catch for new groups having less than 1000 members.

Facebook gives admins of those groups the ability to welcome new members individually. Have a look here.

Clubhouse

Clubhouse is introducing an "On a Call" notification. The idea behind this is that sometimes people are on a CH stage chatting away, and boom, they're gone. Why? Their phone probably rang and took over control of their device. Well, now CH will post a badge on that user's profile photo so that you know that's what happened.

Instagram

Do people DM your business on Instagram? Wish you could automate your responses to your followers and customers?

In this article, you’ll learn how to use Instagram direct messaging automation to streamline business communications on Instagram.

Twitter

Newsletters are coming to a Twitter profile near you. Or, at least the chance to sign up for them is.

Twitter is set to continue its ongoing reinvention of the user profile in the next few weeks with the addition of a newsletter subscription button. The goal is to help newsletter writers better leverage their existing Twitter followers in an effort to grow their subscriber bases.

The "subscribe" button, which will live prominently on the profile pages of those who choose to turn on the feature, will be available to anyone with a Revue account

Cover Story Video

You can now add a 30-second video to the headshot on your profile such as introducing yourself via video.

How it works, you can access this feature via the mobile app only. First, check to see if you have this feature by checking for a + sign next to your headshot.

Next press on your headshot and a box pops up on the bottom, choose ‘view or edit cover story’ with the video icon next to it. You will be guided to your camera and you will see the directions to record your introduction. If you aren’t happy with your recording you can delete it and start over. You can also replace your video anytime.
